Cate, a commercial real estate broker from northern Colorado, sent in a picture of her Celtic knot garter. "The medallion is on the outside of my thigh," she wrote, "and the rest of the band goes all the way around my leg, lending truth to the theory that if it feels good to be touched there, it's going to SUCK to be tattooed there. It's all located about four or five inches above the knee on my left leg."
"This tattoo was done at Lady of the Lake Tattoos in Loveland, Colorado. Web (my artist), Jeanine (the shop owner) and I all worked together to come up with this design. I wanted something colorful and intricate, and I'd been leaning toward a Celtic knot for a long time, since I'm of Irish heritage like bzillions of other folks out there. The whole thing took seven hours in two sittings, two weeks apart. The second sitting, it bruised a lot."
