PAUL BOOTH
Paul Booth is a favorite artist of ours. Paul is shown below, working his needle magic on Ron from Akron, Ohio. Paul, noted for his distinct dark images, is owner of Last Rites Tattoo Studio. Ron, who works for the railroad, brought in a railroad spike and asked Paul to incorporate it into a back tattoo.

Nice red sneakers, huh?
Ron's back, below, at the 1997 convention, along with a shirt of his Paul Booth back piece done by Ed of Red Dragon Tattoo Studio. Paul incorporated the railroad spike as Ron asked him...right through a cherub's skull.

Here is Carole with an arm piece...the work above the band of skullage...done by Paul Booth.

Some more dark images that reflect Paul's distinctive style.

Spiderman...

Some dark images on the ribs...

Another Paul Booth tattoo, below, done at the 1997 Richmond convention.

Paul's genius is particularly evident in this tattoo...a synergy between tattoo and tattooed that gives something greater than the sum of its parts.
Most folks are familiar with Paul's distinctive black and grey work. He also does work in color, as you can see below.

Wendy from Akron, Ohio, shows a back piece by Paul Booth.

You can see more of Wendy's ink elsewhere on this home page and in the February 1998 issue of Tattoo.

Below is another picture of Paul Booth working on Dudley at the 1997 convention.

Check out Dudley's wife, Betsy, and her ink shown in The Scene.
Here's a picture of Paul at the 1998 Richmond Convention, working away on a guy's arm pit...ouch.

Our friend Sylvia got a tattoo from Paul at the 2000 Richmond Convention. Here she is while Paul was working on her...

Here's Sylvia's finished tattoo...

Paul arrived at the 2001 Richmond Tattoo Convention with a new tattoo of his own...perhaps the finest tattoo work on a face that we've seen. Paul's new ink was done by Philip Lu while both men were working a tattoo convention in Switzerland only three weeks before the Richmond convention. Paul sat for 9 hours in one sitting! This new tattoo really "works" for Paul.

And of course, lots of people in Richmond in 2001 enjoyed watching Paul do his needle magic.
